Ashley H. White
Ashley H. White

Ashley H. White –  is an award winning director, fight director, and movement specialist. Her career spans over a decade and throughout it she has focused on creating honest work with an emphasis on expression through the physical form.

Her directorial work has been seen onstage from Garland to Dallas to Bedford, and back again. She has received multiple awards and nominations for her productions and consistently good reviews and strong performance runs. As a Fight Director, she has played with fists, swords, brooms, shattered glass, stools, chairs, dowel rods, plungers, whips, ropes, knives and even pineapples… and of course, lots and lots of (fake) blood. As a movement specialist, she works throughout the North Texas area coaching adults and students alike through workshops and invited visits to productions and schools.

In 2012, Ashley founded SCDallas, DFW’s only stage combat and movement company focused on providing top-tier training and educational opportunities for the DFW area. By 2017, SCDallas has over 500 members, is host to a phenomenally successful Regional Workshop (The Lonestar Smash), and regularly organizes successful SPT Training Courses with the Society of American Fight Directors, in addition to their own regularly scheduled “Fight Nights” and workshops. Ashley is proud to hold SAFD Certifications in: Unarmed Combat, Knife, Single Sword, and Rapier & Dagger.

Ashley has a love for creating live theatre and exploring ensemble-based techniques. In her works, you will find sharp, fine-tuned, and consistent performances through honest, open, and straightforward storytelling. She strives to let the text pour from the actors within a world that is truthful and efficiently designed.
